Dear sirs,
We have heard about the victimization of students defending their right to study
in your country. This is clearly a violation of the most basic democratic
rights. In spite of being lauded as an example of democracy, it seems that
Nigeria continues to be a country where repressive measures are very commonly
applied. We demand that no students be victimized for protesting against the
increase of university fees which mean a severe blow to most families trying to
get their children through university. We demand that measures against Akinwumi
Olawoyin, Isiaka Adegbile, Ekundayo Fadugba, Hassan Abass, and Olugbenga Adewale
at OAU-Ife should be withdrawn immediately.
Waiting for a prompt reply
